Prom this year took place on the night of April 25, 2025, at The Fuge venue, located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The event venue, adorned with neon party lights and circular tables, allowed students to enjoy the catered dinner of selected sides and entrees. There was also a DJ and a vibrant dance floor for students to dance to some requested songs. The majority of Springfield students claimed to have had a good time and to have enjoyed the night. Students mostly enjoyed themselves during the night by having fun dancing and seeing everyone all dressed up. Students like junior, Caraline Gibson, even gave positive remarks about the music during the night.
Girls vs Boys: Getting ready?
The preparation for prom varied from student to student. The average time for girls to get ready ranged from two to five hours. Some who finished earlier commented on how they just did their hair and makeup. While some who took longer to get ready, like senior Jacqueline Walters, “started at the flower shop to pick up boutonniere, got [her] hair done at a hair salon, did [her] makeup, and took
pictures with [her] family.” The boys, on the other hand, averaged around 15 to 30 minutes to get ready. Anthony Leonardo, a sophomore at Holy Ghost Preparatory School, who also attended the Springfield prom, revealed that he just “put on his suit and got ready” in 20 minutes.
How much did Prom cost?
Although the prom ticket was $90 per student this year, there were other expenses to spend. Nell Matthews, a Springfield junior student, only spent an additional $20 on a dress “[she] bought at a thrift store.” But other students like junior Zoe Ferrante estimated to have spent around $500-$600, which is “more than [she] wanted to.” Also, while renting a tux may range from $200 to $300, Springfield junior James Piroli comments that he had no other expenses since he borrowed his tux from his older brother.
Prospective themes for Prom?
The 2025 prom theme, Masquerade, was fun as many students were taking photos with the masks on and enjoying the decor. Students were polled on desirable themes for future proms: Mama Mia and Under the Sea were the most popular among students and can hopefully be the theme for 2026.
In Conclusion:
Students had a great time at this year’s prom and are looking forward to the next!
